SUBSTANCE: method comprises using device that is provided with the unite (3) for forming an image for recording the interaction of light (reflection or transmission) with the surface, light source (2), and place for setting the specimen with paint-and-vanish film (6) to be analyzed. The unit for forming the image, light source, and specimen are arranged so that, in one image, at least one of the characteristics of the surface can be recorded as a function of continuous range of angles between the illumination direction (7), (9) and observation direction (4), (5). The unit for forming the image is made of a camera based on the charge-coupled device.
