FIELD: hydraulic engineering, in particular, construction of backwater dams.
SUBSTANCE: method involves spreading soft cylindrical enclosures on ground and filling enclosure cavities with filler for rendering three-dimensional shape thereto; before spreading process, securing adjacent soft cylindrical enclosures along their generatrices into mats to form dam construction modules having wavy surface after filling thereof and rendering three-dimensional shape thereto; sequentially arranging modules within dam embankment in rows on "bonded brickwork" principle so that ridges of wavy surface of module in one row are inserted into slots of wavy surface of modules in other row; if necessary, building, during laying of modules, soft water-tight membrane in dam embankment, said membrane extending from the bottom to the top in dam embankment between adjacent modules within construction for improving protective properties thereof.
EFFECT: increased strength and stability of ready construction.
