FIELD: hydraulic structures, particularly to erect water-retaining dams.
SUBSTANCE: method involves laying flexible watertight shells on ground in area to be protected; filling watertight shells with soil to impart three-dimensional shape to shells and to create watertight dam. Empty flexible shells are laid on ground across water-retaining dam to be constructed so that the shells overlap each other. In dependence of dam height the shells may be laid in several layers in vertical direction and filled with water. In the case of water-retaining dam transformation into fixed dam water is discharged from the shells and the shells are filled with solid filler. To provide longitudinal dam stability when relief curvature is insufficient retaining walls are arranged at dam ends.
EFFECT: increased speed of dam erection and increased water-retaining dam reliability.
