FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: calves should be injected with a blood preparation since the 1st d of birth at the dosage of 50 ml daily about 15-20 min before feeding for 5 d. As the above-mentioned blood preparation one may apply an acidic hydrolyzate pH of which should reach 3.5-4.0 due to adding lactic, benzoic and succinic acids at the following ratio of components, weight%: lactic acid 0.3-0.4; benzoic acid 0.04-0.05; succinic acid 0.1-0.2; acidic hydrolyzate - the rest to give it all for calves before colostral feeding at the dosage of about 40-50 ml twice daily.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of diarrhea prophylaxis.
