FIELD: processes and equipment for producing melt iron.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of loading mixture containing material on base of iron oxide and carbon containing reducing agent into heating reducing furnace for reducing iron oxide in mixture of initial materials with use of carbon containing reducing agent till state of solid reduced iron; transporting solid reduced iron to melting furnace; burning carbon-containing material fed as fuel for melting solid reduced iron in melting furnace and producing melt iron. When metallization of solid reduced iron increases at least up to 60%, such iron is transported to melting furnace. Quantities of oxygen and carbon-containing material fed to melting furnace are controlled in such a way that to provide coefficient of after-burning of gaseous CO in melting furnace at level of 40% or less. Intensity of transferring after-burning heat to melt iron is increased at least up to 60 %.
EFFECT: minimum erosion of refractory materials, lowered power consumption.
