FIELD: mechanical engineering; compression ignition engines; diesel engines.
SUBSTANCE: according to invention, proposed internal combustion engine transforms reciprocation of piston into rotation of crankshaft by spatial crank-and-connecting rod mechanism in which axis of rotation of crank is parallel to axis of engine cylinder. Piston is made sectional so that rotation of crank provides rotation of upper part of piston around its axis. Compression and oil control rings are fitted in lower part of piston, and screw grooves are made in upper part, being connected by channel with inner space of piston. In bottom dead center, inner space of piston communicates with air supply channel made in cylinder wall. Screw grooves provide possibility of air delivery from inner space of piston through screw grooves along cylinder wall into combustion chamber.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of working process, increased cycle temperature and power characteristics of diesel engine.
