FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed engine comprises disk-like cooled housing, side covers, toroidal circular cylinder with intake and discharge openings and two piston assemblies articulated by sync mechanism. The latter comprises connecting rod gears with sun gears and stationary gear wheel secured directly on engine housing. Discharge openings are shaped as lengthwise slots in cylinder wall and have increased area at initial section. Driven and drive piston assemblies are fitted to float in cylinder without resting on engine shaft or engine housing. Round-section pistons are sealed by compression rings and integrated into piston assemblies with the help of thin connecting rings fitted into engine crankcase via slot in cooled cylinder liner. Connecting ring outer side has toroidal surface aligned with cylinder liner inner surface and piston sidewall. Driven piston assembly is coupled with flywheel by its connecting ring via toothed half-coupling with barrel-like tooth. Drive piston assembly is jointed via connecting ring and con rods with crank pins to rotate and oscillate. Crank axles are linked with sun gear and pass through holes in flywheel coupled with output shaft.
EFFECT: higher reliability, reduced overall dimensions.
