FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnosing condition of internal combustion engines and to methods of determining their state and it can be used for determining remaining life of engine crankshaft bearings. Proposed method of evaluation of condition of piston machine comes to measuring clearances in mating parts of connecting rod-and-crank mechanism by determining amplitude and phase of impact pulses appearing at collision of mating parts at excitation of harmonic bending oscillations of natural frequencies in crankshaft of stand-still engine. Remaining life is found by nomograms plotted with use of mathematical dependence.
EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability, reduced labor input at determining remaining life of engine crankshaft bearings.
