FIELD: the invention refers to the fields of underwater acoustics and radio technique and may be used for building systems for detection sonar systems.

SUBSTANCE: the mode of detection of a sonar echo-signal includes radiation of sounding signal, reception together with noise interference of an echo-signal with the aid of a sonar antenna, digitization of an electric system at the output of the sonar antenna, collection of digitized readings of an electric signal of T duration. Receiving in series through equal intervals of time for the whole time of detection of collections of digitized readings of the electric signal and quick Fourier transformation of received collections of digitized readings. At that in accordance with each collection of digitized readings of the electric signal they define a complex spectrum, execute displacement of collections on time 1/8T<ΔT<1/2T, store each previous and each following complex spectrum, define each reciprocal spectrum between previous and each following collections, choose the collection with maximum energetic spectrum according to which decision about detection of a signal is made.

EFFECT: increases noise immunity at detection of a sonar echo-signal in presence of noises and interference.
