FIELD: the invention refers to the field of underwater acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: the mode includes reception of acoustic signal, its transformation by each element into electric signal, amplification of electric signals from each element of the sector with definite weighting coefficients and summing up of intensified electric signals from all elements of the sector. At that the intensified signals from each element of the sector are delayed on definite time.
EFFECT: possibility of forming of a relatively narrow, independent from frequency, characteristic of direction in wide diapason of frequencies by the sector of the circular antenna of relatively small wave dimensions.
