FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: during flight basin preparation of the water aerodrome position of the take-off runway is determined considering both wind direction and minimum wind wave at the water area. Air cushion vehicle (ACV) crew marks the take-off runway by means of floating navigation signs installation: marker, course beacon, ACV as sign of water landing zone. The path of the hydro-airplane movement over the water basin is inspected visually and using the radar and sonar. On ACV the glide path and course radio beacons are installed for the radio signals transmission and reception. Operators of the onshore hydroacoustic service ensure different types of underwater monitoring. On the floating navigation signs and onshore buildings of the water aerodrome the active radar beacons with round scatter diagram in upper hemisphere are installed, this ensures reemission in reverse direction of the received signals sent by radar, they are power amplified and are coherent to the probe radiation, resulting in increased own radar signature of the objects.
EFFECT: refined information on navigation state of the flight basin of the water aerodrome due to multiposition radar monitoring both from board of the hydro-airplane, and from the onshore support service, increased safety of take-off and landing at shallow water area.
