FIELD: nuclear-power engineering; methods of tableting of the nuclear fuel based on UO2 or the mixtures of (U,Pu)O2 oxides with addition of brimstone.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the method of sulphidation of UO2 powder and the method of manufacture of the tablets of the nuclear fuel based on uranium dioxide or the mixtures of uranium and "MOX" type plutonium oxides based on the mixed (U,Pu)O2 oxides, which may be used in the reactors of any type. UO2 powder is sulfurized by its introduction in contact with the gaseous sulphurizing agent. The tablets of the nuclear fuel on the basis of uranium oxide or the mixture of uranium and plutonium oxides are manufactured out of the charge of the fully or partially sulfonated UO2 powder or UO2 powder and PuO2 powder due to lubrication, tableting and calcining. The invention allows to produce the sintered tablets of the nuclear fuel with the improved properties concerning the microstructure of the indicated tablets, in particular, with the increased size of the particles of the material, as compared with their usual dimension.
