TIME SETTING SYNCHRONIZATION SUPPORTED BY MOBILE STATION IN CDMA SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC H04Q7/00 H04J13/00

Abstract RU 2294059 C2

FIELD: communication systems ; devices for synchronizing base station with aid of signals transferred from mobile station communicating also with base station being synchronized.

SUBSTANCE: driven base station is synchronized with base station through messages transferred from mobile station and received by mobile station either in service area affording soft transmission between driving base station and driven one or within the range enabling mobile station to support communications with driven base station. When mobile station communicates both with driving base station and with driven one, driving base station measures signal passage delay time in forward and reverse directions between mobile station and driving base station. Driving station transfers bus selector code used by mobile station over return communication line to driven base station. The latter locks on signal from mobile station and determines time of signal arrival from mobile station. Then driven base station executes this operation and evaluates delay time in signal transmission from mobile station to driven base station. These measurement results and estimates are used by driven base station to find error incorporated in system time of driven base station.

EFFECT: reduced station search time.
