METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF DIFFUSE TOXIC GOITER Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B17/00 A61K35/26 A61P43/00

Abstract RU 2294704 C1

FIELD: medicine, surgery.

SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to fulfill subtotal subfascial resection of both thyroid lobes at keeping the layer of its tissue along posterior-medial surface at the quantity of 4-6 g/each lobe. Moreover, after resection before suturing the wound one should conduct intrasurgical stimulation of regeneration of residual thyroid tissue due to introducing 1-2 ml complex allogeneic biomaterial into parenchymatous thickness at the following ratio: 40-50 mg biomaterial per 1 ml physiological solution, moreover, complex biomaterial is being a multi-component composition that includes, weight%: vasculogenesis stimulant 40-50, regeneration stimulant 40-50, specific thyrotropic stimulant 5-10 which should be prepared as the following: one should purify allogeneic donor's thyroid gland to remove the residues of adjacent tissues and reduce it into small pieces and wash in running water for about 5-19 min, then thrice one should rinse it with 0.9%-sodium chloride solution, then tissues should be frozen and freeze dried under vacuum to reduce dried tissues, pack into glass vials and sterilize with γ-radiation at the dosage of 2.5 Mrad. The innovation provides rapid revascularization of thyroid stump, development of a full-value connective tissue, enables to suppress autoimmune activity to residual thyroid tissue in postsurgical period.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
