FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed low-voltage circuit breaker has at least one fixed contact electrically connected to electric circuit lead and rotary moving contact incorporating central body with at least one first arm protruding therefrom and active surface on its end that functions as connectable/separable one relative to fixed contact while movable contact is rotating. Revolving contact-supporting shaft is joined to ON-operation mechanism and is provided with support accommodating central body of movable contact so that first arm protrudes out of mentioned support. At least one first spring is disposed in contact-supporting shaft; it is functionally coupled with movable contact and serves to ensure adequate contact pressure between active surface and first fixed contact when circuit breaker is closed. At least one first surface of support is provided on central body of fixed contact and when movable contact is set in rotary motion due to short circuit, it engages additional surface formed in shaft support so that at least part of energy stored by rotary contact is directly transferred to shaft during its rotation.
EFFECT: minimized impacts of movable contact onto body, reduced contact chatter and probability of repeated breakdown in opening.
