FIELD: noble metal metallurgy; extraction of noble metals from middlings of metallurgy process, refining process in particular.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in blending the starting material containing noble metals and copper sulfides with caustic soda (NaOH) at weight ratio of NaOH:starting material not below ).5:1 and heating at temperature of 550-650°C for 3.0-3.5 h. Mass ratio of copper to sum of noble metals in products being processed shall be no less than 2:1. Proposed method ensures low-temperature concentration of noble metals at avoidance of separation of gaseous sulfur-containing compounds.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; avoidance of separation of gaseous sulfur-containing compounds.
