FIELD: rolling processes and equipment, namely measuring of deformation zone between working rolls for cold and hot rolling for rolling narrow or wide metallic strips, especially strips of non-ferrous metals.

SUBSTANCE: according to invention signals of pickups measuring gap between working rolls are fed to servo valves for controlling working fluid feed in cylinder unit influencing upon deformation zone. Invention may be also used for accelerated side slipping of strip. Position or motion pickup for measuring gap between working rolls may be mounted at least in one bending cylinder of working rolls for indirect measurement of gap over positively or negatively acting bending cylinder.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measuring.
