SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling. Method comprises directing onto, reflecting surface of rolled strip with help of at least two transceiving devices (3), electromagnetic radiation (6) in microwave range. Reflected signals are received from reflecting surfaces (4). Reflecting surfaces (4) are located on passing parallel to direction (12) of strip line (13) at a distance (10) from each other. Each of reflected signals is fed into device (11) for evaluation and correlation using a method of determining speed of strip.
EFFECT: high measurement accuracy.
