FIELD: electrochemical industry branch, namely apparatuses for electrolysis of aqueous solutions, possibly development of compact easily transported units for preparing activated aqueous solutions for domestic and industrial purposes.
SUBSTANCE: electrolyzer includes mounted mutually in parallel metallic electrodes, flat diaphragms and dielectric frameworks defining electrode chamber hydraulically communicated with inlet device of electrode chamber and with outlet device of said chamber. Sections of electrode chambers normal relative to liquid flow direction are in the form of duct with constant rectangular cross section having width Δ and thickness δ. Said duct is hydraulically communicated with inlet and outlet devices of respective electrode chamber. Cross section area of duct in outlet device normal to liquid flow speed direction consists of (0.3 - 3)δ Δ. Cross section area of duct of inlet device normal to liquid flow speed direction consists of (0.3 - 3)δ Δ. Width Δ of duct is less than critical size Δ' = V'[ρ/(σ δ)]1/2 where ρ - density; V' - volumetric flow rate of liquid through electrode chamber; σ - surface tension coefficient; length of electrode chamber exceeds its width Δ at least by 2 times; δ is less than 3 mm.
EFFECT: improved quality of processing gas-liquid mixtures, lowered size of electrolyzer with increased useful time period, reduced material consumption for making it.
