FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method of operation of internal combustion engine with conversion of heat generated at combustion of fuel in cylinder into useful, working strokes of expansion of gaseous combustion products alternate with working strokes of expansion of vapors of liquefied gas-cooler. Gas of liquefied hydrocarbons can be used as gas cooler which, in its, is used simultaneously as fuel. After cooling stroke, heated gas is delivered into cylinders as fuel.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of engine, no adverse effect on environment.
