FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to piston-type internal combustion engines with variable compression ratio. According to invention, proposed crank mechanism includes connecting rod made for movement relative to axis of crankpin of crankshaft under action of intermediate member. Said intermediate member is eccentric installed in big end of connecting rod enclosing crankpin of crankshaft. Eccentric has external gear engaging with central external gear installed concentrically to axis of crankshaft for turning relative to crankshaft by means of drive. Crankshaft is furnished additionally with movable counterweights coupled with central gears.
EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions and simplified design of movable part of crank mechanism, possibility of changing its geometry within wide range to provide change of engine compression ratio.
