FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed circuit breaker designed to protect power installations as well as AC and DC lines against overloads and short circuits has frame, movable and fixed contacts, holding electromagnet with magnetic core and armature mounted on common shaft, disconnecting spring, contact pressure spring, closing mechanism with armature, as well as control rod that interconnects holding electromagnet armature and movable contact. Novelty is introduction of double-arm lever one of whose arms is joined with common shaft and other one, with closing mechanism armature; another novelty is introduction of shackle one of whose ends is hinge-mounted on frame support and other one, hinged to control rod that interconnects armature and movable contact whose end opposing that designed for contacting fixed contact is hinged through additional control rod to holding electromagnet armature.
EFFECT: provision for wiping contact surfaces in closing, dispensing with silver at high speed due to both horizontal and vertical displacement of movable contact in closing operations.
