SUBSTANCE: proposed volumetric expansion device for insulating compound of submersible electric motor is essentially tubular member whose length equals minimum that of winding end portion; it is made of heat-resistant porous flexible material immune to insulating compound and disposed in insulating compound layer within stator interior. Polyolefin foam can be used as such material.

EFFECT: ability of compensating for volumetric expansion of compound in submersible motor stator.
