FIELD: pressure treatment of metal, particularly for gas cylinder production.
SUBSTANCE: method involves heating metal blank end; wrapping blank end along with shaping thereof with the use of tool. Tubular blank is heated and one tube blank end is wrapped so that blind bottom or bottom provided with mouth is created. Then another blank end is heated and wrapped along with shaping thereof to create blind bottom or bottom provided with mouth. In the case of cup-like blank usage opened blank end is heated and wrapped so that bottom provided with mouth is formed. Temperature of blank end heating is determined from a given relation.
EFFECT: decreased labor inputs and improved manufacturability of cylinder production along with retaining strength and plastic properties thereof.
