FOAM GENERATION DEVICE Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A62C5/02 B28C5/38

Abstract RU 2297260 C1

FIELD: fire-fighting, chemical industry and construction, particularly to prepare foam to be applied onto burning liquid surface, to be used in reaction and gas-cleaning operations and to make construction foam for cellular article (aerated concrete or foamed gypsum) production with the use of foaming agent.

SUBSTANCE: foam generation device comprises dispersing means 1, vessel 2 filled with liquid foaming agent, pump 3, pipeline 4 to deliver liquid foaming agent and gas supply pipeline 5, as well as control valves 6, 7 installed in pipelines 4, 5 correspondingly. Dispersing means has body 8 and aerodynamic shroud 9 coaxial with the body 8. The aerodynamic shroud position with respect to the body may be changed by means of control mechanism 10. Body 8 is made as Venturi tube including cylinder-and-conical contraction tube 11, neck 12 and diffuser. Nozzle 13 is arranged coaxially to the body 8 so that the nozzle 13 may slide in axial direction with respect to the body 8 by means of specially adapted mechanism. Nozzle 14 has gas-supply jet 15 linked to pipeline 5. Body 8 is provided with inlet jets 16 for liquid foaming agent delivery. Each inlet jet 16 is made as elbow and may rotate about its axis. Body 8 is provided with gasket means, for instance with gland seal, to provide jet 16 sealing. In the case of foam usage for fire-extinguishment purpose foam produced in the device is delivered to burning object, for instance to burning liquid surface contained in vessel 18.

EFFECT: increased device mobility, improved uniformity of bubble having different diameters distribution over foam volume, decreased hydraulic resistance and increased simplicity of foam expansion rate regulation.
