SUBSTANCE: roller includes at least one measuring head provided with partial measuring heads mounted at angular shift by 180° one relative to other in envelope of roller. Said partial measuring heads rest upon two force metering pickups; they are spaced in addition from roller envelope by means of gap surrounding them and they fastened one with other at least through one connecting tie rod. In process of measuring tension stress distribution of band along its width, band subjected to tension stresses along its whole width embraces roller for measuring surface planeness by predetermined contact arc. It provides pressure efforts acting upon roller for measuring surface planeness and allows determine tension stress distribution of band according to difference of pressure efforts of partial measuring heads.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurements due to elimination of errors caused by influence of outer factors.
