SUBSTANCE: tool is provided with units for measuring tension provided by tensioning device; measuring value characterizing position of tensioning device; time period from moment of starting rivet setting process; value of tool setting angle; unit for comparing measured values with values stored in memory; unit for selecting suitable error reasons out of set of error reasons stored in memory. Error reasons stored in memory are: setting of riveting tool by incorrect angle, usage of irregular or defective rivet, out-of-size opening for rivet, absence of rivet in rivet setting tool, absence of clamping by rivet both parts to be joined, usage of defective setting tool.

EFFECT: possibility for controlling different parameters of rivet setting process, improved quality of riveting.
