FIELD: mechanical engineering; overhead belt conveyors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed overhead belt conveyor with combination supports is designed for handling lump and loosed loads. Conveyor has posts, belt endlessly closed on drums to form carrying and return runs, and support members arranged on posts to support both runs of belt. Carrying and return runs are arranged equidistantly relative to each other. Carrying members with rounded off projections pointed outwards are attached to belt sides at equal pitch along its length. Support members on carrying and return runs are made in form of tubular parts orientated in longitudinal direction to conveyor for engagement with projections of carrying members from side of longitudinal axis of conveyor, and cylindrical rollers installed on posts for rotation and arranged between sides of carrying and return runs for engagement with runs. Said tubular parts from side of projections of carrying members are perforated. Inner tubular space of parts communicates with compressed air source. Said parts are made in form of tubes arranged in succession and connected by hollow bushing with screw cuts on ends.

EFFECT: simplified design and reduced cost of conveyor, possibility of catching broken belt of inclined conveyor.
