METHOD OF MOUNTING TOWER CRANE GANTRY Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B66C23/34 

FIELD: materials handling facilities; gantry cranes.

SUBSTANCE: method includes mounting of gantry running trucks on rail track by means of mounting crane. Crane gantry preassembled on mounting platform and including support frame, gantry posts hinge-connected with support frame and longitudinal beams are installed on running trucks. Longitudinal beams are connected with posts of gantry for detachment and are installed in crane running trucks. Support frame of gantry is installed on mounting platform and is connected in this position with posts so that center of gravity of each post in suspended state on hinge joint connecting it with support frame should be beyond the limits of center of said hinge joint in direction from central axle of support frame. Using mounting crane, support frame with posts is suspended over longitudinal beams installed on running trucks in position to provide contact between lower ends of posts and posts with support frame are lowered in this position onto longitudinal beams. Simultaneously, when lowering the posts, they are moved in opposite sides from each other until holes of post lugs register with holes of lugs of longitudinal beams, and after alignment of said holes, pins are driven into lug holes to connect posts with longitudinal beams in suspended position of support frame and posts.

EFFECT: reduced labor input in mounting the gantry.
