OPENING STATIC-PULSE BURNISHING METHOD Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B24B39/02

FIELD: manufacturing processes in machine engineering, namely methods for strengthening and finishing blanks of steels and alloys by surface plastic deforming.

SUBSTANCE: method is realized due to using burnishing device in the form of ring coiled helical cylindrical spring with deforming members in the for of its turns. Said spring is mounted at tightness in regular polygon having number of apexes equal to that of spring turns. Said regular polygon is rigidly mounted in plug. Spring is freely mounted in retainer without possibility of turning around its lengthwise axis. Lengthwise feed motion is imparted to burnishing device. Blank and plug with regular polygon are imparted to rotation at providing additional tightness between spring and blank surface for performing static-pulse action upon blank.

EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, enhanced efficiency, increased rigidity of worked surface, lowered cost price of burnishing process.
