FIELD: engine manufacture, namely apparatuses for suppressing exhaust noise of internal combustion engine.

SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine noise silencer includes housing with tangential inlet branch pipe and central outlet branch pipe, upper wall faced with sound absorbing material; duct connecting said branch pipes and formed by band twisted to helix between end walls of housing. Sound absorbing belt is secured to said helically twisted band. Said sound absorbing belt includes vibration suppressing base and fibrous swirling members, for example in the form of elastic material fibers with freely protruded one end. Sound absorbing material of upper wall is made on base of aluminum-containing alloys filled with titanium hydride or air and having density in range 0.5 - 0.9 kg/m³; compression strength in range 5 - 10 MPa; bending strength in range 10 - 20 MPa.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of noise suppressing.
