FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, equipment used in grass plant mowing machines.

SUBSTANCE: cutter bar has proper bar mounted on frame and provided with shear plates, endless chain with segment knives, and drive. Drive for endless pulling member has hydraulic distributor with reversal controlling of movement direction. One edge of blade of each knife and shear plate has continuous sharpening and other edge is provided with cuts. All right-handed edges of knife blades and shear plate blades are of one sharpening type while all left-handed edges are of other sharpening type.

EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to operative alteration of movement of endless pulling member with knives and, accordingly, provision for self-cleaning of cutter bar.
