FIELD: polymer production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytic methods for production of butyl polymers in solutions and provides butyl polymer production process comprising interaction of monoolefin monomer containing 4 to 8 carbon atoms with multiolefin monomer containing 4 to 14 carbon atoms at temperature within a range from -100°C to about +50°C in presence of diluent and catalytic mixture comprising monoalkylaluminum dichloride and alumoxan.
EFFECT: increased output of butyl polymer, increased molecular weight of polymer and narrowed index of polydispersity thereof.
