FIELD: organic chemistry, analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out the simultaneous determination of 5-nitro-4-oxopentanoic acid methyl ester (5-NLA) and its reduced compounds by polarography. Method is carried out in standard borate buffer (pH 8.5-9.2) in direct current differential regiment. The proposed polarographic method provides carrying out simultaneous determination of 5-NLA and its reduced compounds in borate buffer solution rapidly with the sufficient precision degree in different technological solutions and to control the hydrolysis process of 5-NLA methyl ester to 5-NLA hydrochloride.
EFFECT: improved method of assay.
