FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves ligating one or two extracranial branches of the carotid artery within the surgical intervention framework. Superficial temporal artery segment is selected as the extracranial branch and temporal artery trunks are ligated uni- or bilaterally. Ligation is carried out by applying bipolar or monopolar coagulation.
EFFECT: reduced risk of traumatic complications.
