FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to neurosurgery. Haemodynamic ischemia is detected in the pool of the occluded internal carotid artery in the patients suffering a transient ischemic attack or ischemic stroke in the given pool for last 120 days, with Rankin score not more than 3 points and presence of superficial temporal artery and cerebral arteries suitable for anastomosis. Cortical extra-intracranial microanastomosis between the branches of the superficial temporal artery and the M4 segment of the middle cerebral artery is applied only to patients with cortical (leptomeningeal) collaterals in the occluded artery basin according to the cerebral angiography.
EFFECT: method enables optimizing the selection of patients for operation of cortical extra-intracranial microanastomosis between branches of superficial temporal artery and M4 segment of middle cerebral artery in patients with atherosclerotic occlusion of internal carotid artery.
