FIELD: testing engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises switching off the power supply when there is no excess pressure in the surrounding fluid with respect to the atmospheric pressure. The device comprises at least one section of defectoscope that is provided with the power source for instruments and devices of the defectoscope, switch of the power source, and device for control of pressure connected with the pressure gage mounted for permitting measurement of the pressure in the surrounding fluid. The pressure control unit is connected with the switch of the power source for permitting control of the switch when there is no excess pressure in the fluid surrounding the section with respect to the atmospheric pressure.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
