FIELD: the invention refers to measuring technique and may be used on transport for measuring quantity of fuel in tanks of complex configuration and also for measuring the diving depth of a body in liquid.

SUBSTANCE: the sensor for measuring a fluid level has electrodes located inside an insulated blanket filling the whole space between the electrodes and forming in parallel connected condensers the relation of the distance between the electrodes to the width of the electrodes on the height of the sensor is prescribed in the limits from 0,5 to 5, and relation of the thickness of the insulated blanket between the electrodes and fluid to the width of the electrodes equals 0÷0,5.

EFFECT: provides demanded functional dependence of the capacity of the sensor from the measured fluid level.
