FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment, means of measuring the strain of materials. The gauge provides a possibility of quantifying the tension-compression strain of the studied object by the change in the value of the electrical capacitance of the sensing element made of oxidised aluminium. The gauge can be applied in industry for monitoring the elastic strain. The substance of the claimed solution consists in the fact that the capacitance strain gauge contains a sensing element with an electrical capacitance, the value whereof changes on application of strain, characterised by the fact that the gauge comprises: a sensing element secured on the mounting plate; a metal tape fixed at the ends on the mounting plate so that the sensing element is located under the metal tape; a support placed between the sensing element and the metal tape, wherein the sensing element is made in the form of aluminium sheets rolled in several layers on a rigid insert, wherein a layer of aluminium oxide is provided between the rolled aluminium sheets.

EFFECT: increased relative sensitivity to strain detection.
