FIELD: cathode-ray tubes.
SUBSTANCE: vacuum envelope has tube component incorporating electron gun and conical component 4 whose position corresponds to that of deflection yoke. Cross-sectional area of conical component 4 in direction perpendicular to CRT picture tube axis includes other-than-round section with its respective maximal diameter in other direction than that of long and short axes of panel. Conical component 4 has part meeting following relationship: LA/SA < 1, where coordinate origin in coordinate system is point on axis 1a within conical component 4 and where horizontal and vertical axes are intersecting at right angles; LA and SA stand for extensions of conical component external surface along horizontal and vertical axes, respectively.
EFFECT: reduced sweep power due to enhanced horizontal-deflection efficiency along with ability of resisting air pressure and elimination of beam shadow ring.
