FIELD: mechanical engineering; transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in exhaust systems of diesel engines or engines with forced ignition of working mixture operating in automobiles. Proposed carrier of catalyst converter has geometric longitudinal axis and cellular element and casing between which corrugated bushing is placed, having outer and inner sides, and nondetachably connected with casing from connected with casing from outer side on corresponding sections, and with cellular element from inner side. Sections of connection of corrugated bushing and casing are arranged mainly on common circular line and they have minimum possible width in direction of longitudinal axis of catalyst converter and dimensions which provide reliable holding of cellular element under operating conditions owing to sufficient common area of said sections. Thanks to it, even at reduction of diameter of cellular element caused by shrinkage in zone of end faces in service, high reliability of connection between cellular element and casing is guaranteed. Invention contains description of method of manufacture of proposed carrier.
