FIELD: prospecting, in particular, geo-chemical prospecting of oil and gas formations.
SUBSTANCE: prepared sample is affected by electronic beam with pulse duration 1-10 nanoseconds and energy density varying between 0,1 and 0,5 J/cm2, spectral and kinetic characteristics of impulse cathode luminescence of selected rocks are measured in range between 200 and 1200 nanometers, values of intensiveness, characteristic luminescence bands, present in mineral samples, are determined and marked on a map and on basis of resulting values of band intensiveness, exceeding background values, oil and gas prospects are determined.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of prediction and prospecting of hydrocarbon formations.
