METHOD FOR FORMING TRACHEOPHARYNGOSTOMA IN CARRYING OUT LARYNGECTOMY Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B17/00

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves suturing the cut trachea to skin edges and forming septum between tracheostoma and pharyngostoma. Horizontal incision in skin and subcutaneous fat is made when forming the tracheostoma. Then, the trachea is opened in the vicinity of the second and the third semi-ring and sutured with its lower pole to lower edge of the horizontal skin incision forming the lower tracheostoma pole in this way. Vertical incision is done along the neck median line 2-2.5 cm far above the tracheostoma incision. Cellulocutaneous bridge is built between these two incisions. The bridge is detached from trachea from top to down and the larynx is cut off from the trachea near the superior tracheostoma pole and removed. The superior tracheostoma opening pole not sutured to skin edge is laid under the lower edge of the cellulocutaneous bridge and sutured to skin along the whole its boundary transforming linear horizontal skin incision into circular opening called tracheostoma. The cellulocutaneous bridge separated from the trachea is laid and sutured to the healthy esophagus and pharyngostoma is formed from the vertical incision made when accessing the larynx.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in preventing pharyngeal fistula occurrence.
