FIELD: inorganic chemistry, building materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nonmetallic, amorphous, refractory fibrous materials that are insoluble in a saline solution. The proposed insulator comprises fibers of the following composition, wt.-%: 65%< SiO2 <86%; MgO <10%; 14%< CaO <28%; Al2O3 <2%; ZrO2 <3%; B2O3 <5%; P2O5 <5%; 72% <SiO2 + ZrO2 + B2O3 + 5*P2O5; 95% <SiO2 + CaO + MgO + Al2O3 + ZrO2 + B2O3 + P2O5, and 0.1% <R2O3 <4% wherein R is chosen from the following group: Sc, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Y or their mixtures. Invention provides enhancing strength of fibers, resistance to temperature 1260°C without interaction with alumosilicate refractory brick.
EFFECT: improved and valuable properties of fibers.
