FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to artificial mineral wool. Mineral wool has a chemical composition containing the following, wt.%: SiO2 39–50; Al2O3 19.5–27; CaO 8–10; MgO 1–5; Na2O 5–20; K2O 0–15; Fe2O3 2–15; B2O3 0–2. Weight ratio of MgO/RO is more than 0.10 and less than 0.50, and the weight ratio of RO/(RO+R2O) is less than 0.55, in which RO is alkali-earth oxides CaO, MgO, BaO and SrO, R2O is alkaline oxides Na2O and K2O.
EFFECT: fibre-forming capacity using internal moulding methods, bio-solubility of mineral wool, stability at high temperatures without the need to use organic phosphate-containing additives.
