FIELD: manufacture of refractory materials and monolithic lining for non-ferrous metallurgy working in aggressive media and melts with the use of water glass.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes mixing the alumina-containing filler and finely-ground component; used as alumina-containing filler is material at content of alumina of 15-70 mass-% selected from the following group: chamotte, mullite and corundum at the following fraction composition, mass-%: 0-1 mm, 30-40; 5-10 mm, 60-70; used as finely ground components is highly concentrated ceramic binder composition at moisture content of 14-17% obtained through wet grinding of crushed alumina-containing material in alkaline medium till obtaining particles of 5 mcm in the amount of 30-50% and particles more than 63 mcm at subsequent stabilization continued for 7-20 h; moisture of this material ranges from 7.5 to 8.0% at the following ratio of components, mass-%: filler, 50-60; highly concentrated ceramic binder suspension, 40-50.. Wet grinding is carried out in ball mill at loading performed at three stages : 100% of water and 70% of said alumina-containing material; after reaching temperature of 45-60C, 15-20 of said alumina-containing material and after reaching temperature of 50-70C, 10-15% of said alumina-containing material; water soda glass is loaded at each stage in the amount of 1% of mass of alumina-containing component; alumina-containing material is taken from crushed items at size of grain not exceeding 10 mm.

EFFECT: improved service characteristics required for mounting and operation in molten and aggressive media.
