FIELD: preparation of refractory concretes. SUBSTANCE: expanded clay concrete is prepared from more than 98% of pure SiO2 quartz sands and silicic filler with particle size of 0.1-10 mm. Binder to filler ratio varies from 30-40% to 60-70 %, respectively. Binder is prepared in optimum conditions which enable one to attain moisture content of suspension within 12-16%, content of fine particles (up to 5 mcm) being within 30-60%. Moisture content of concrete mix with flowing consistency (without using vibration) is 4.5-6.5 %. Structure-forming additives such as high-alumina cement (0.5-3%) of ferrochromium slag (1-5 are added in the form of suspension. Concrete with original porosity of 10-18% and compression strength of 8-40 MPa is obtained from said mix. EFFECT: improved properties of expanded clay silicic concrete. 5 cl
