FIELD: rare metal technologies.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises sorption of rhenium on a sorption material, which is chitosan-impregnated carbonaceous fibrous material with well developed surface. Sorption material is prepared via electrochemical treatment of carbonaceous fibrous material in 0.05-0.5% solution of chitosan in dilute hydrochloric acid in presence of sodium chloride as background electrolyte under conditions of anode polarization within a range of values from immersion potential to potential 1.5 v against silver chloride reference electrode. Desorption of rhenium is accomplished with 7-10% ammonia solution.
EFFECT: enhanced rhenium recovery efficiency due to use of sorbent combining sufficient sorption capacity with improved kinetic and environmental characteristics.
