FIELD: hydrometallurgy of rare metals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for desorption of rhenium from conducting carbon materials. Rhenium-loaded fibrous carbon material, modified fibrous carbon material, or activated carbon is subjected to electrochemical treatment in background electrolyte solution under conditions of polarization into cathode region from initial immersion potential until desired potential value is achieved, namely within a range of 0 to -0.5 V against silver chloride reference electrode, followed by ageing at achieved potential until desorption process is ended.
EFFECT: optimized degree of rhenium concentration, avoided use of eluting solutions of reagents, and reduced volumes of processing wastes and effluents.
