FIELD: electrical engineering; commutatorless electrical machines including direct-current generators for any field of science and technology using off-line power supplies.
SUBSTANCE: proposed commutatorless permanent-magnet synchronous generator has one or more sections, each incorporating circular-core rotor mounting even number of permanent magnets equally spaced apart; stator carrying even number of horseshoe electromagnets disposed in pairs opposite one another, each carrying two coils wound in series opposition; and electric current rectifying device. Permanent magnets are secured on magnetic core to form two parallel rows of poles of longitudinally and transversely alternating polarities. Electromagnets are positioned crosswise of mentioned pole rows so that each electromagnet coil is disposed above one of parallel rows of rotor poles. Pole number per row n satisfies following relationship: n - 10 + 4k, where k is integer number taking values of 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. Number of generator electromagnets does not usually exceed (n - 2).
EFFECT: reduced space requirement, enhanced efficiency and reliability, simplified design affording output current regulation within wide range depending on operating conditions.
